Carlos Eduardo Guevara
Carlos Eduardo Guevara, es un bogotano Ingeniero Industrial egresado de la Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas, donde obtuvo su grado con tesis meritoria, especialista en Servicios Públicos y Ambiente; y Magíster en Gerencia y Práctica del Desarrollo de la Universidad de Los Andes.
Ha sido becario del Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo (Programa Jóvenes Líderes para el Desarrollo), de la Universidad George Whashington – Corporación Andina de Fomento CAF- Universidad del Rosario (Gerencia Política y Gobernabilidad); del Centro de Estudios Hemisféricos de Defensa «William J. Perry» (Derechos Humanos); y de la Escuela Superior de Guerra (CIDENAL).
Inició su carrera política en el año 2000, como Presidente de Juventudes MIRA; posteriormente ingresó al equipo de trabajo normativo del Ex Concejal y Ex Senador Carlos Alberto Baena, con quien trabajó de la mano para generar soluciones a las problemáticas más sentidas de la ciudad.
Tuvo la oportunidad de desempeñarse como Concejal de Bogotá, del 2009 al 2011, en donde se destacó y su bancada fue calificada como «La Mejor Bancada del Concejo», por la Corporación «CONCEJO CÓMO VAMOS», del 2010 al 2011, hecho que le permitió ser candidato a la Alcaldía de Bogotá por MIRA para el 2011, donde pudo profundizar en las dificultades que padecen los bogotanos; su sencillez, disciplina, trabajo en equipo, entrega al trabajo comunitario y liderazgo, le permitieron que en el 2014 fuera electo Representante a la Cámara por Bogotá 2014 -2018, en donde El Portal «La Silla Vacía lo ha destacado como el representante más activo de la bancada bogotana en la Cámara.
Su trabajo en las corporaciones públicas siempre lo ha enfocado en generar nuevas oportunidades en educación a los jóvenes; en defender los derechos de los niños y niñas; en salvaguardar los derechos de los usuarios de los servicios públicos domiciliarios; en procurar un ambiente sano para las futuras generaciones; en realizar el control político basado en gestión y resultados, entre otros.
De su entorno familiar destacamos, que es el mayor de cuatro hermanos, casado y padre de dos niños. De sus padres heredó los valores y su formación cristiano, los que se han convertido en el baluarte más importante de su vida. Quienes lo conocen y lo rodean, destacan como fortalezas su nobleza, carácter, tesón y liderazgo. Ha asumido la política como una profesión y proyecto de vida, destacando dentro de sus premisas, una política con resultados.

Carlos Eduardo Guevara, born in Bogotá, is an Industrial Engineer graduated from the Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas, where he obtained his degree with a merit thesis. He is specialist in Public Services and Environment and he earned a master’s degree in Management and Practice of Development from the Universidad de Los Andes.
He has been a fellow of the Inter-American Development Bank (Young Leaders for Development Program) from the George Whashington University – Andean Development Corporation (CAF) – Universidad del Rosario (Political Management and Governance), of the Center for Defense Hemispheric Studies «William J. Perry» (Human Rights) and the War College (CIDENAL).
He started his political career as President of Juventudes MIRA in 2000, then he joined the normative work group of former Councilman and former Senator Carlos Alberto Baena, with whom he worked hand in hand to generate solutions to the most heartfelt problems in the city.
He had the opportunity to act as Councilman of Bogotá, from 2009 to 2011, where he stood out and his legislators were qualified, from 2010 to 2011, as «The Best Legislators of the Council», by the Corporation «CONCEJO COMO VAMOS», a fact that allows him to be the candidate to the Mayor´s Office of Bogotá for MIRA in 2011, where he was able to go into the difficulties suffered by Bogota citizens. His simplicity, discipline, teamwork, commitment to community work and leadership, allowed him in 2014, to be elected Representative to the Chamber for Bogotá 2014 -2018 and El Portal “La Silla Vacía” stood him out as the most active representative of the Bogota legislators in the Chamber.
His work in public corporations has always been focused on generating new opportunities in education for young people, defending the rights of children, safeguarding the rights of users of home public services, procuring a healthy environment for future generations, carrying out the political control based on management and results, among others.
Regarding to his familiar surroundings, we emphasize that he is the oldest of his four siblings, married and father of two children. From his parents he inherited his values and his Christian formation, which have become the most important bulwark of his life. Those who know him and surround him, stand out his nobility, character, tenacity and leadership as strengths. He has assumed politics as a profession and project of life, highlighting within his premises: politics with results.
